Inside Chemence: Christina Nevin

This month on Inside Chemence, I had the opportunity to sit down with Christina Nevin, Senior Quality Manager on our PM side, to discuss her career journey, leadership philosophy, and the evolving role of quality within manufacturing.

From interning at NASA and studying chemistry at Siena College and Georgia Tech, to leading quality initiatives at Chemence, Christina’s path has been driven by curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for building systems that work. What stood out most during our conversation was her ability to connect technical expertise with people-first leadership.

Christina shared how her background in analytical chemistry, lab management, teaching, and safety ultimately led her to quality management — a role that combines process improvement, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration across every department.

Throughout the interview, Christina emphasized the importance of sustainable systems, cross-functional teamwork, and staying agile in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. She also reflected on how quality has evolved over the years with faster reaction times, tighter supply chains, and the growing need for efficient, scalable processes.

A few standout moments from the conversation:

🔹 “You don’t win unless your whole team wins.”

🔹 “We’re not siloed — we all represent Chemence.”

🔹 “I want to create processes that are self-sustaining, streamlined, and easy to follow.”

🔹 “I would never want to reach a point where I wouldn’t want to work for myself.”

We also talked about leadership and mentorship, where Christina described her approach as servant leadership — creating environments where teams feel supported, empowered, and equipped to succeed. Her perspective on balancing quality standards while maintaining collaboration across operations, R&D, supply chain, and production highlighted just how interconnected every part of the business truly is.

Outside of work, Christina is an avid reader, gamer, plant enthusiast, biker, and someone who genuinely enjoys continuously learning and exploring new challenges — whether that’s in quality systems or open-world video games.

One of my favorite takeaways from this conversation was her reminder that no department succeeds alone. At the end of the day, everyone is working toward the same goal: delivering the best possible product and experience for customers.

Huge thank you to Christina for taking the time to share her story, experiences, and insights with us for this edition of Inside Chemence.
