Inside Chemence: Shana Subramanian

At Chemence Medical, people are at the heart of everything we do and helping those people thrive is exactly what drives Shana Subramanian, Human Resources Manager. Since joining Chemence Medical in 2021, Shana has played an instrumental role in strengthening the company’s people strategy, supporting leaders, and fostering a workplace culture built on collaboration, trust, and continuous growth. With a background in human resources, talent strategy, organizational development, and employee relations, she partners closely with leadership to ensure both employees and the business are positioned for long term success.

A graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational and Professional Communication, concentrating in Human Resources, Shana has also earned multiple HR certifications throughout her career. While no two days in HR are ever the same, that’s exactly what she enjoys most. From recruiting top talent and coaching managers to improving processes and developing strategic initiatives, her role touches nearly every part of the organization. She believes Human Resources is most effective when it’s viewed as a true business partner one that supports both organizational goals and employee success through transparency, communication, and collaboration.

For Shana, one of the most rewarding aspects of her career is watching others grow. Whether hiring someone who develops into a top performer, mentoring an employee through a challenging situation, or helping a manager become a stronger leader, she finds fulfillment in knowing she has played a small part in someone else’s success. She also credits one of her former directors for helping shape her own professional journey, a reminder of the lasting impact mentorship can have. Looking back on her time at Chemence, she is especially proud of helping build teams that continue to make meaningful contributions across the business.

Outside the office, Shana enjoys spending time with her husband and son, playing tennis, and volunteering as a Big Sister in her community. As Chemence continues to grow, she is excited about attracting exceptional talent, developing future leaders, and creating even more opportunities for employees to succeed. Her advice to anyone building a career whether in HR or other fields simple but powerful: Never stop investing in yourself. Continue learning, seek feedback, embrace new challenges, and remember that consistent growth over time creates lasting success.
